New York City District ARES Net Control Script

Calling all radio amateurs entitled to use this frequency. This is
(callsign) _______________, convening the New York City District ARES
net at this time. My name is _______________ and I am located in
_______________. Any station with an actual emergency may break this
net at any time, inform net control that you have an emergency and
control of the frequency will be turned over to you.
This is the New York City District Amateur Radio Emergency Services
weekly net. This net meets every MONDAY evening at 8:00 PM local time,
through the generous facilities of WB2ZSE for the purposes of
disseminating information, demonstrating readiness to participate in
the event of an emergency, and providing training to local amateur
radio operators for emergency and public service communications.
We welcome and encourage all amateur operators to check into the net,
whether they are members of ARES or not. In the event of a declared or
undeclared emergency, all available operators are asked to stand by on
this frequency for instructions. This is a directed net, which means
that all contacts should be made through net control, and stations
should not leave the net without advising net control.

As one purpose of tonight's net is to learn and practice good
operating procedure, please check in when your callsign group is
called, and state whether you have traffic for the net. Please speak
slowly and clearly, there is no need to rush. The check in for each
group will be repeated until no more check-ins are heard. Please call
net control by calling my callsign first. Release the push to talk
button. Wait until you are certain that no one else is speaking.
Then check-in with your callsign, name, and location. State if you
have traffic. We will begin now.

The net will now call for stations with callsigns beginning with the
letter "A". [When no more stations call, recognize those who have
checked-in and proceed to the next group]

The net will now call for stations with callsigns beginning with the
letter "W". [When no more stations call, recognize those who have
checked-in and proceed to the next group]

The net will now call for stations with callsigns beginning with the
letter "K". [When no more stations call, recognize those who have
checked-in and proceed to the next group]

The net will now call for stations with callsigns beginning with the
letter "N". [When no more stations call, recognize those who have
checked-in and proceed to the next group]

The net will now call for stations who have not yet checked-in. [When
no more stations call, recognize those who have checked-in and
   proceed.]

York City District ARES again thanks WB2ZSE for the use of the
repeater. The net is now closed.
